This machinery worked for many and many years, producing energy for electric locomotives and bringing progress and prosperity to São Paulo state. However, as both Ferroban and R.F.F.S.A. abandoned all equipments of this kind after the scrapping of the electrification system, thieves take the opportunity to stole all expensive copper wires and components - and eventually were contaminated with the dangerous askarel oil from the electric transformers of mercury from the rectifiers.
